We are applying the word, the name Penning as a leading platform to give everyone access to the possibilities of crypto-assets. In the middle ages, minting was reserved for the royals, whereas today Penning is open to all.

Company milestones

2021
Penning A/S was born, licensed as an Alternative Investment Fund by the Danish FSA, and launched an institutional-grade hedge fund, changing the way investors view the digital assets space.
2022
As the hedge fund built its track record, Penning Financial Services was slowly taking shape. Penning's proprietary broker desk entered the Nordic crypto space.
2023
Established a position as a key player in the Nordic crypto scene and applied for the MiCA/CASP license.
2024
Entered the grandfathering scheme, secured the capital reserve requirement, and expanded the core team.
2025
Continued operating under the MiCA transitional regime while Finanstilsynet assessed Penning's full CASP authorisation.
2026
Received the MiCA/CASP license as one of the first full crypto companies in Denmark — with portfolio-management authorisation — then acquired Veli's wealth-management business and launched Penning Wealth, welcoming long-term crypto investors from across Europe.
